Lasting Style Journal

Editorial standards

Lasting Style Journal aims to make clothing and personal style easier to understand. We distinguish explanation from opinion, check factual claims against suitable sources, and make uncertainty visible when the available information does not support a firm answer.

Accuracy and clarity

We review names, terminology and factual statements before publication, and revise wording that could leave a misleading impression. Articles are written for general readers, not as a substitute for advice from a qualified textile conservator, tailor or other specialist when a specific garment needs expert attention.

Independence and corrections

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. If a reader spots a meaningful error, they can contact us with the article and the detail in question. We assess corrections and update the relevant wording when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers.

Partners and paid material

Paid collaborations and partner material are identified clearly where they appear, so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee a favourable mention or control over unrelated editorial decisions.

Images and illustrations

Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where an image is illustrative rather than a photograph of a real garment or object, we label it accordingly; images are not presented as evidence of a product's construction or performance.
